Restaurant L’Ancienne École is located in a former village school built in 1868, in the heart of Palau-del-Vidre. For over a century, this building welcomed generations of pupils before being completely renovated and transformed into a restaurant in 1982.
In 2001, Baptiste and Émilie Gaillard took over the establishment with the desire to preserve the soul of the place while developing a seasonal cuisine made from fresh and predominantly local produce.
For 25 years, they have welcomed their customers into a warm atmosphere where authenticity, friendliness and a passion for gastronomy come together. Today, the story continues to be written every day with the same commitment: introducing people to authentic cuisine in a place steeped in history and deeply rooted in the heritage of Palau-del-Vidre.

A new adventure begins
Entouré de sa famille et de ses amis, Baptiste Gaillard reprend le restaurant. Ensemble, ils rénovent le lieu et lui donnent un nouvel élan. Quelques mois plus tard il rencontre Émilie qui rejoint l’aventure. Depuis, ils accueillent leurs clients avec la même passion et l’envie de faire vivre ce lieu chargé d’histoire
